Harmony Park Safari

This past summer i found a lil hiddin jewl in the mountains of Huntsville..Harmony Park Safari, a must see for the animal lover. These animals are in a zoo yes, but unless they are a danger to anyone they are not confined to closed in cages. It is sooo neat how you can just ride around and stay as long as you like in the wildlife atmosphere!
The Albino Deer almost greets you at the gate! He's beautiful! These New additions to the safari are the cutest thing EVER! They had not arrived until my second visit here.

The lil fellers are just as cute as the BIG fellers! These big guys dont mind getting up close and personal either.

My fav of the big guns has to be this Beautiful Longhorn!! He's gorgeous ( and a lil scary in my PT Cruiser! haha)
My niece, Anna had a lil trouble geting the food all the way out of the window and onto the ground for the animals to eat.. i had this bull's snot on my window and car for days before i got around to washing it off! Other than a lil snot the big anmials posed no threat to me, my passengers or the vehicle.

On the other hand...

...are these guys! There are tons of them it seems and they're out for the loot (food)!
This picture still creeps me out bc of the way he's looking at that food cup.. i felt as if he was gonna peck my window right out and take it! They'd come up on us fast and out of nowhere! They're birds on a mission and just plain scary, they made me nervous..moving on.
From the common creature to the exotic i saw it all.. this zebra was beautiful but not as friendly as i hoped he would be.. maybe it was those big awful birds in his way, or he just wasnt hungry. I drove away with the ability to say i have touched a zebra if only for a second.
At the exit of the safari is this sweet lil smiling lama. Both times i visited the safari he was sitting in the same spot smiling the same way, as if to say "Yall come back now, ya hear"

There is a part of the safari where you can get out of the car, however I didnt see the need to be any closer to what was in this section. It was called Reptile Planet, in which there were snakes and lizards that just didnt spark my interest. Im glad that i decided to go in anyway because of these HUGE tortises.

All in all it was a very good day and fun experience.. Im considering going maybe once every couple years to check out the new additions and see how they've all grown.

my Alice in Wonderland in 3D review...

I grew up on Alice in Wonderland.. wore my VCR and tape plum out watchin this movie! I was suprised how much of this movie i had forgotton.. or maybe i was just to young to understand things like a blue caterpillar smokin on a bong! haha but it's all in good fun and this movie was AWESOME!

I've never seen a movie in 3D before this one, and i was excited! I was expecting a lil more out of it st first but towards the end when the action started i got the full effect of the 3D. At the very end of the movie when the caterpillar turns into the butterfly, the butterfly flew off the screen out into the middle of the theatre it seemed!

I would definately recomend this movie to anyone who is an Alice in Wonderland fan, and even if you're not.

Cathedral Caverns

I recently visited Cathedral Caverns in Gurley AL. And like most of the attractions i visit around my area it was completely spontaneous. But ive never walked away from one of my lil weekend adventures feeling more educated about something and interested in learing and doing more than so when i left the caverns.

This is the opening of the cave. It is possibly the largest natural cave opening in the world! It's 100 ft wide and 25 ft tall. And it is completely natural, but they dont think this was the original opening to the cave. Mr Gurley found this opening on a hunch when he was walking through the woods and felt the cold air coming from somewhere thru the trees. The first time he saw the cave he knew right then he wanted to purchase it.
Way before Mr Gurley ever come accross it however they think it was once an underwater cave. the picture below shows an imprint of fish fossils! and in two parts of the cave there is acctually a shark tooth stuck up in the celing!

My favorite fact and area about the caverns though is the stilagmite forrest (i hope i spelled that right) Stilagmite is the formations that grows from the floor up. The view of this area as well as the romantic story that goes with it makes it my favorite. Mr Gurley found this part of the cavern and went home and told his wife all about the beauty he'd found in his cave. On their anniversary he took her a piece of stalagmite, but she wanted to go and see what he was talking so much about. So he agreed and took her all the way back into the cave to the "forrest". He climbed up and held two lanterns out for her to see the forrest of stalagmite growing there and she was speachless. He went over to make sure she was ok and tears rolled down her face and all she could say was it was like a cathedral. And there came about the name Cathedral Caverns.

There was more to the caverns after these pictures, but of course i didnt put the memory card in my new digital camera! i had to buy a disposable lol, but the pictures are no comparison to how awesome this place really is. In a few weeks they're are going to be starting a program for people who want to go into the caves as Mr Gurley did. No lights, no paved sidewalks, and no clean clothes when you walk out! Nothing but the guide to show you the way and a flash light when you're not climbing and you can hold it. I've seriously considered being interested in this! I think it would turn out to be a good hobby and something fun to get into.

I would highly recomend going here on a lazy saturday with nothin else to do!

take Hwy 72 east towards scottsborrow. Signs for Cathedral Caverns will lead you the rest of the way.

All about me!

Ive decided to make a blog simply about me and my randomness :)...maybe for no other reason than im soooo bored lol. and ive kinda come to like doing this. so...where to start? i ask myself...OH where to start?!
WELP:

"She's a bad mamajama from down in Alabama" And i know it. nor do i mind showin it:D imma country girl thru and thru, and i wouldnt have it any other way. Every one can say they've been through alot in their lives, bc that's life! It happens.. and even tho im a Ferguson girl by blood and we have "Cronic Crap" sometimes the crap gets knee deep.. that's when i put a smile on my face with shovel in hand and dig myself out. That's all i can do and hope for the best. There are time i just KNEW my life was OV! lol but after alot of diggin i found new begginings to my endings. I'm not a princess.. will never have a fairy tale and i am MORe than ok with that. However i would certainly take a prince charming any day with no question.

"She wants to make every stray a pet" i LOVE animals of any sort.. the picture on the left is of me and my most recent baby. ( he loves his moma lol) in the middle is a pic of me and RockieRoad.. i found him on the rd and took him to a creek when i was done playin with him. And then there was the sweet baby Bo.. he loved that spot ridin in the truck :)

"I'm just a silly girl, livin in a crazy world!" I love to have fun on a daily basis.. Laughter is my very best theropy. If i could laugh till it hurts everyday id never complain abut the pain. This picture here was taken in the slide at the Kids Kingdom in Athens,(the small town outside of the even smaller town that im from). I havent decided if im so easy to please because of how i grew up or if it's because i had no choice. lol either way i reckon like it.

i get OH so bored when i drive. i understand this could be a safety hazzard but i just cant help it.. so i take pics of pretty stuff lol

I absolutly LOVE photography in any form. i love to take pictures like these above but i also love to have my picture made. Boring rainy days can be turned into fun days with a camera and a good spot to become artistic. I have NO plans or desires to be a model by any means but i just like the way i can express myself thru a camera lense. Pictures make me feel better when im sad or down on myself, take away boredness, and capture the happiest times of my life for eternity.

MUDDIN is like my absolute FAV thing in the world to do ever!!!! i swear it's the door to my heart. The best first date i ever went on was a campin and muddin weekend! Prolly woulda married that boy right then and there! PUha

Tractor pulls and drag races come in second for good dates :D

i love love a good tractor pull! and the races are nothin more than the Mike Feruson in me, but i never try to deny it. Id be behind the wheel if i could! but unless i hit the lotto i guess ill just keep my seat in the stands!

I hunt, i fish and i can hold my liquor with the best of you. On the left is a picture of me with my 20g Charles Daily shot gun. Im a good shot! It's that Ferguson blood. In the middle is my initiation photo. I am now a swarn in friend of the Dickle Den.. a Biker bar made out of a garage! the best biker bar ive ever been to! And on the right is pure summertime bliss in a picture, fishin in the creek.

I turned 21 this year and have been having SO much fun. To the left is my first bar bought drink ( southern comfort.. it was very strong! lol) Sunkist and orange smirnoff is amazing! jegger shots are equally amazing :D!
